EPCs for Letting Agents

From October 1st 2008 all homes being let will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Letting agents and landlords will need to provide an energy performance certificate to any prospective tenant.

This relates to a private investment property, owners renting their own homes, houses in multiple occupation and registered social housing.

EPC's are required when letting to a new tenant (not an existing tenant). The EPC will be lodged with Landmark and valid for TEN years
